10-22-2014 iOS 8 Jailbreak by Pangu
The Pangu team has been really doing a great job jailbreaking new and very difficult or almost impossible to jailbreak phenomena we are used to. In less than 2 months, the Pangu team releases a Jailbreak for iOS 9 and 8,1 with no previous notices or fuss that we used to hear about for months until a jailbreak is out. This is the second jailbreak by the Pangu team, however, they were one of the fastest and quickest to release.
The first Pangu release caused some issues for some people, the team in hours released a new revision to the Pangu tool.
The current jailbreak doesn't install Cydia, but allows you to install all the tools required to manually install Cydia. Therefore, it is not easy but also not too difficult method.
After one, day, we are still waiting for a new Pangu release to bundle Cydia as with previous jailbreaks, specially after Saurik, the developer of Cydia, very quickly updated Cydia for iOS8, and its substrates which allows you to install hacks.
12-23-2013 Evaid3rs Release iOS 7 Jailbreak:
In a shocking and surprising iPhone news, today, the evaid3rs released an iOS 7 jailbreak.
This was a complete surprise to me, as I was expecting a jailbreak would take a long time after the official release of iOS in September 10, 2013. iOS 6 jailbreak took over 5 or 6 months to complete. I was in the mode of throwing jailbreaking an iPhone off the window, but the surprise happened.
As usual with the any new iPhone, Apple releases shocking iPhone news. The company sold 9 million iPhones in the first weekend after the iPhone 5s announcement in September 20th.
The new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c come with different spec. The iPhone 5s is Apple's flagship and comes with a finger print sensor or Touch ID. The iPhone 5c is beefed up iPhone 5 that comes with differ rent colors and plastic case with lower price tag.
9/20/2013 iPhone 5S Goes on Sale:
Today is the biggest iPhone news. Apple releases its iPhone flag ship, the iPhone 5S for sale. The Apple website is refreshing its store to add the iPhone 5S pre-order form. Usually, the iPhone is sold out within the first 4 or 8 ours. Therefore, if you are looking to order one online, you must stay up and wait to be one of the first lucky to get one of the first shipment. Otherwise, you will have to wait another month or so for another shipment.
The biggest iPhone news with the 5S is the touch ID which allows you to use your finger to unlock your iPhone. There is no need for a pass code or password anymore to open your iPhone. Furthermore, you will be able to buy music and iPhone Applications from the App Store with a touch on your home button.
You can say goodbye to the password with the new iPhone 5S. Of course, the iPhone 5S comes pre installed with iOS 7 which is a major iOS upgrade.
9/10/2013 iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C Announced:
Today is the biggest iPhone news. Apple today announced two new iPhones. Normally, Apple announces a new iPhone in a yearly Keynote event. However, this is the first time that Apple announces one flag ship iPhone 5S and another less expensive iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S as usual is a the same design as its brother the iPhone 5 with all new interior.
The iPhone 5S comes with a 64-bit desktop class Apple designed A7 processor, a brand new camera, dual flash, and a touch ID or finger print sensor.
The iPhone 5C is basically a revamped iPhone 5. Apple will discontinue the current iPhone 5 and replace it with iPhone 5C which has the A6 processor, improved camera, and 5 different colors in a plastic case.
Both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C come pre installed with iOS 7, the world most advanced smart phone operating system.
6/10/2013 Apple Announces iOS 7 to the Public:
The highly anticipated iPhone news is finally out. Apple announced iOS 7 for iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad third generation, iPad forth generation, and iPad mini and iPod touch fifth generation.
Generally, iOS7 will will not run on the first iPad, and first 3 iPhones. iOS is a complete overhaul and redesign of the user interface, icons, and all stock iPhone applications.
Many new features were added such as multitasking to all applications, Control center, and new commands, functions, and voices for Siri. Everything is changed, installing iOS7 on an iPhone is almost like having a brand new iPhone.
The first Beta version is out, and available for developers to test. Apple will keep adding options and features as it keeps updating to Beta 2, and more until official release this fall of 2013.
5/31/2013 Apple iOS 7 Will Be More Open:
One of the advantages of having an Apple iPhone is of course being in the Apple ecosystem, its ease of use, and the stability of iOS. For me, I jailbreak my iPhone all the time, and I do loose some of the stability, but I can actually make it even easier to use with some iPhone hacks.
Tim Cook CEO of Apple announced recently that iOS 7 will be more open to developers. This is a great iPhone news, I don't think it will be open to the Jailbreak degree, but at least apps will be able to talk to the lock screen, Siri, or other services. We just have to wait until June 10th to see what iOS 7 is going to be at the WWDC.
It would be really nice if Apple can make two versions of the iOS one as it is now that is secure and closed, while another one for developers that is fully open. That would be cool but very unlikely as it could cause Apple reputation to go down.
5/9/2013 Apple iPhone News Summary for 2013:
This is the best time for iPhone news. It is the time of the year when we are all waiting for the most anticipated Apple news. With so my rumors and prediction, we just have to be excited.
By the end of this year, we will hear about the iWatch, Apple anticipated iOS watch. A watch that will connect to your iPhone and do many things without pulling your iPhone.
A new iPad mini that is faster, and has a retina display. We also are expecting the new iPad 5 to be thinner, and have same design as the iPad mini. An Apple brand TV has also been repeated several times.
Finally, the biggest iPhone news is the iPhone 5S with fingerprint technology that is also expected by September or October of 2013. Moreover, targeting the middle class market, Apple is planning a less expensive budget iPhone that will come in colors by end of 2013.
5/10/2013 Apple Is Planning to Tap Into The Cheapo Market:
Apple is said to be looking in the Mid range smart phones market. It will finally tap into a big market that never captured before. The new cheaper or less expensive phone will be about $200 to $350 with no contract. It will be competing with those mid price phones from Samsung, HTC, LG, and others.
The new cheaper iPhone will come with a plastic case instead of the aluminum case, and it will come in colors just like the iPod touch. It will also have a 4" retina display same as the iPhone 5.
It looks like that it will be marketed to India and China, but it might come to the US as well, specially that T-Mobile now offers no-contact plans. This less expensive iPhone will be a great candidate for those who wants to buy and iPhone right away and use it with no contract.
If Apple is successful, companies like HTC, and Samsung will greatly be impacted as they have a big market share in this category that Apple never tapped into before.
4/30/2013 iOS 7 to Have A Very Flat Design:
Finally, the long awaited iOS 7 is promising a user interface change, and a new look after constant shape for several years. Jony Ive the new SVP of hardware design took over the iOS development, many Apple users have lots of expectation from the the new move.
It is said that the new iOS 7 will have a very flat design similar to the latest Microsoft Windows Phone operating system. Therefore, you would expect more gestures to move the screen left, right, up and down to go to different places.
The WWDC is planned on June 14 to June 20 of 2013, iOS 7 is expected to be announced besides OSX 10.9, and probably the iPhone 5S, new iPad mini, and iPad 5 and many other services, and surprises. Lets wait and the biggest iPhone news then.
4/20/2013 iPhone 5S to Come With Fingerprints:
With every minor iPhone release Apple introduce one new and unique feature. It introduced the 3G network with the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS was capable of recording video for the first time. The iPhone 4 unique feature was the retina display while the iPhone 4S came with Siri. The iPhone 5 was unique in its 4" longer retina display.
Finally, the iPhone 5S will have a unique and new feature which is the fingerprints sensor. This is a really cool and useful feature if you think about the possibilities. Not only you will be able to unlock your device with a touch on the screen, but you would be able to login to your bank account, make payment, purchases, and much more.
2/4/2013 evasi0n Jailbreak is Released:
Finally, the best iPhone news is here. The longest wait ever for a jailbreak is over. Today the evad3rs team released the promised evasi0n jailbreak. It is an untethered jailbreak for almost every iOS device out there except for the third generation Apple TV.
Therefore, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad mini, and iPod touch 4th and fifth generation.
The jailbreak is very easy to apply. You simply run the evasi0n application on Mac, PC or Linux, and follow the screen. In less than 5 minutes, you will see the Cydia icon on your home screen.
After the Jailbreak was released, evasi0n was downloaded 100,000 times in 20 minutes, and a total of 1.7 million time in less than 2 days. This in fact caused the Cydia store to go down for all of the first day, and half of the second day. You wouldn't be able to download anything.
For step by step directions go to iDownloadblog and follow the PC or Mac installation. Also visit my best iOS 6 hacks page to see the latest iPhone hacks.
2/3/2013 evasi0n is Delayed Until Monday:
With all the hope and expectation for the evasi0n iPhone 5 jailbreak to come on Sunday Feb. 3rd, it is confirmed that the new highly anticipated jailbreak will be released one day later than predicted, i.e. on Monday February the 4th instead of Sunday.
One day delay is really not a big deal, as long as it is coming. The coming days are going to enter the history of the iPhone. This iPhone 5, iPad 4, and iPad mini jailbreak is really similar to Apple releasing a major iOS upgrade.
When Apple releases a new iOS update, the update comes with lots of new features that makes the release a big event. With the evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 6, it will also open the iOS to lots of new features as if it was a major update.
Honestly, I am more excited about this iOS 6 jailbreak than I was excited about upgrading from iOS 5 to iOS 6. The iPhone hacks and tweaks that could be installed with the vasi0n jailbreak on iOS 6 will show the real power of the iPhone 5 and other iOS devices.
1/31/2013 evasi0n Jailbreak is due Sunday:
The evad3rs team is predicting the evasi0n jailbreak to come on Sunday February 3rd. That is 4 days from now.
They have already finished 68% of the Mac and Windows application, and next will start the Linux application.
The process requires less than 5 minutes of your time, a PC with windows X, or a Mac with OSX 10.5 minimum, or Linux (x86 / X86_64), and of course you will need a USB cable. Visit the iPhone Hacks page to learn what you can do after your Jailbreak your iPhone.
1/30/2013 iPhone 5 Jailbreak is days Away:
The most anticipated and long awaited Jailbreak in the history of iPhone is only a few days away. After almost 4 and half months of the iPhone 5 release, iOS 6 on the A6X chip used on the iPhone 5 is finally getting the final touches of a public jailbreak released.
A jailbreak hackers consisting of musclenerd, pod2g, pimskeks, and planetbeing have formed new team called evad3rs, and they called their new iOS 6.x jailbreak evasi0n.
This is the best iPhone news ever, and this is the longest I have ever waited for a jailbreak to come out. It feels like years, but it is coming, and progress is confirmed.
Go ahead and use iTunes to upgrade your iOS device to iOS 6.1 which just came out, and get ready for the biggest event in the iPhone history.
This jailbreak will work on all the new devices such as iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPod touch with retina display, iPad 4, and iPad mini.
1/9/2013 Today, the iPhone is 6 Years Old:
It is amazing how time runs so fast. Looking around at smart phones now and just 6 years ago just before the iPhone was unveiled. This is the 6th birthday of the very famous Steve Jobs announcement of the touch screen Phone.
The iPhone was unique in its capacitive touch screen, and used your fingers instead of a stylus which was common in most smart phone. Its 3.5 inch touch screen was big compared to the other smart phones and it was shipped with full screen desktop quality internet browse Safari compared to smaller text versions on other smart phones. It was the thinnest smart phone, had accelerometer, bluetooth, and wifi and was built in a 2MP camera.
Moreover, it came with a very simple to use software that is a revision of OSX called now the iOS, which had the ability to install applications right on your phone.
Watch the video below and remember this great event that revolutionized the smart phone industry forever.
1/8/2013 Apple Might Make A Chaeaper iPhone:
Due to the severe smart phone competition, Apple is planning to make a cheaper iPhone. Currently, Apple makes the iPhone 5, and sells the iPhone 4S at discounted price, but still both with a contract.
This might OK for the US market, but in big markets like China and India, the iPhone 5 is too expensive. This iPhone news came from the Wall Street Journal that Apple is working on a low cost iPhone that is around $99 to $150.00. This would definitely be a good idea for Apple to sell this cheaper iPhone in those markets at a full price and without a contract.
9/24/2012 Apple sold 5 Million iPhone 5:
The high demand for the new iPhone 5 is apparent and significant. Apple sold 2 million iPhone 5 in the first 24 hours, and a total of 5 million iPhones in the first weekend.
This is a great iPhone news for Apple and a breaking record for the company. Apple sold 1 million iPhone 4S last year during the first 24 hours.
9/21/2012 -- Benchmark testing Show iPhone Fastest Smartphone in the Market:
I went to the Apple store today, and I felt the responsiveness and speed of the iPhone 5 in many areas compared to the iPhone 4S. iOS 6 Maps app for example takes longer time to render and update on the iPhone 4S vs iPhone 5. Taking a photo is faster in both front camera and rear camera. Taking a picture while recording a video is seamless. Finally, taking a panorama picture is impressive. It is the fastest panorama capture I have seen. It is just quick to sweep a scene, and stretching is instant.
This is all supported by AnandTech iPhone 5 performance preview. The iPhone 5 simply smokes every smart phone available in the market. The Apple A6 processor which has a dual ARM core, and 3 core GPU outperforms other smart phones with quad core CPU and faster clock speed.
This is a great iPhone news, and evidence that the number of cores, and the clock speed is not everything. Apple excels in its efficiency and optimization of its hardware and software which are made by one company and for each other. This is the magic formula that Apple has and no other company does.
9/21/2012 -- The iPhone 5 Goes on Sale:
The greatest iPhone news is here!!. iPhone 5 goes on sale in the US and eight other countries which are Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
In the US it is sold through three major carriers Verizon, AT&T and Sprint while other regional carriers like U.S. Talcose C Spire, Alaska’s GCI and Appalachian Wireless announced plans to carry the iPhone 5.
Another good iPhone news is that Cricket Wireless which is a prepaid service is also planning to carry the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 comes in two colors White & silver or Black & Slate. It comes in 16/32 and 64 GB. It is taller with 4" retina display, lighter and thinner than the iPhone 4S.
9/12/2012 -- Apple Announces the iPhone 5:
Apple Announced iPhone 5 with all its glory features and breaking all the rumors about this new release,
Here are the most important and useful features on the iPhone 5:
4" retina display: The display is longer but not wider making it easy to use in one hand.
Lighter and thinner than the iPhone 4S
Front Camera: The front camera is still 8MB which is the same as the iPhone 4S, but improved low light capture, and it takes still pictures faster and even while shooting a video. It can also take impressive panorama pictures.
Front Camera: the front camera can now take 720p HD video, and facetime in HD. It can also take pictures while recording video, and recognizes faces.
Double the speed of CPU and GPU, at 1Ghz and 1GB of ram.
New connection port: The 30 pin charging port is gone, and replaced with a more durable, reversible 8 pin faster connection.
Better speakers: Improved stereo speakers with bigger and louder speakers.
Improved Microphone: The iPhone 5 has three microphones that improves sound input and gives HD sound quality phone calls when supported.
4G LTE network support, and improved 11n wifi speed.
The iPhone was available for pre-order on Sep 14, and 2 million iPhone 5 were sold in 24 hours. This makes a new record for iPhone as the iPhone 4S sold 1 million in the first 24 hours.
6/11/2012 -- Apple Announces Maps for iOS6 at the 2012 WWDC
This is one of my favorites shows, where Apple announces new products, technologies, and new updates to its entire line of software and hardware. This year is not different. New exciting products were announced including iOS 6.
One of the major highlights of this show about the new iOS is the introduction of Maps. This is the first Apple map application for the iOS. It is completely designed by Apple from the ground up that finally allows Apple to dump google maps from its iOS. The new maps application is fully integrated with all iOS applications and services including Siri.
Many apple fans including myself were waiting for this great iPhone news. With the new Maps application, turn by turn navigation is possible. 3D map is another great feature that puts google maps to shame. Although the map application is still in beta, it looks very promising and very exciting.
Here are more features and improvements to iOS6:
- Facebook integration
- New Siri functions like launching apps
- Facetime over cellular network
- Many improvement to Safari, Mail, and the Phone Applications.
5/26/2012 -- iPhone 5 Rumors:
As we are getting close to the iPhone 5 release date, Apple's fifth generation iPhone rumors start to come out. As we know from experience, some rumors make it in the final product while others don't make it and remain either a hype, just a dream or not even planned at all.
iPhone 5 is on the horizon and voices are calling for a bigger retina screen. I personally like the current 3.5" screen and have no issue with it at all.
However, because almost all Android phones come with at least 4" display, people started to re consider the iPhone screen size. Therefore, one of the biggest changes that might happen to the iPhone is its screen size increase to 4" from 3.5". This would make the iPhone a little taller with the same width which is good as you could still use it with one hand.
A faster network speed of 4G or LTE seem to be planned for the new iPhone. Moreover, iOS 6 will be announced next month and will be coming with the new iPhone. So here is a list of the predicted iPhone 5 features:
1- Bigger screen of 4" taller retina display
2- Quad Core CPU and GPU for faster and more powerful graphics.
3- iOS6 and improved Siri
4- Faster network at 4g or LTE speed
5- High definition front facing camera
6- 12 mega pixel rear camera
7- Thinner and lighter design
3/7/2012 Apple Unveils The New iPad:
Yes this again the yearly iPhone news, but this time for the new
. Apple unveiled this new iPad but never gave it a name. We don't know if it is going to be called
Whatever it is, the biggest thing about this new iPad is the expected retina display. As you know the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S both come with retina display which is a very high density screen of 336 pixels per inch. The iPad followed the same strategy by making 4 times the pixels in the same size of the
giving a retina display of 2048-by-1536 resolution. That is a resolution higher than the
1080P HD TV's
It also has a 5MP rear camera and comes with iOS 5.1. The price is going to be the same as the
iPad 2, and
will drop in price. The great iPhone news that iPad 2
will drop in price means more people can buy iOS devices.
3/1/2012 The App Store Hits 25 billion Downloads:
It is a great iPhone news for the App Store. Today it reached 25 billion downloads. The counter started showing up on the Apple website, and a contest took place by Apple. The winner of the 25 billionth download will get a $10,000 gift card!.
Wow, the App Store only opened with the big iPhone news that you could download and install apps on your iPhone. It took the App store only 3 years to reach this tremendous amount of downloads.
Note that the download doesn't have to be a purchase to win. Any type of download was eligible to win the $10,000 gift card.
1/29/2012 -- About 1 million iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Jailbreak in 3 days
This is not a surprising iPhone news as the exciting and great features of iOS 5 just scream for a jailbreak. Once it was done, tens of iPhone hacks and tweaks started to show up in Cydia taking full advantage of the iPhone 4S and iOS 5 hidden power. Siri hacks are some of the most exciting as they add functionality to the stock Siri that could change the way you interact with your iPhone.
1/21/2012 -- iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Jailbreak Released
This is a great iPhone news for jailbreakers. Yesterday, the Dev Team released the first jailbreak called Absinthe for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. It was a the result of hard work that took more than 3 months. It was released for Mac OSX first in a GUI interface, but today was released for Window as a command line with GUI to come soon.
As always expected, Apple will not let this last long. Therefore, if you were waiting for such iPhone news, then you got it, this is your chance. It works on iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1, so make sure you have those versions.
