iPhone X

iPhone X has a notchThe iPhone X was a unique design alongside two other iPhones which are iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus.

It came with several differences and new features that didn't exist before in any iPhone and that don't exist on the other two iPhone models the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus.

With the iPhone X apple changed many of its strategies, and the user experience of using your phone. Not only the home button was removed, but touch ID and the way you open and access your phone was also changed.

With the release of iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone Xr, Apple is moving forward with Face ID. They got rid of the touch ID, and are implementing Face ID across the board.

So, expect even new iPads in the future also to have Face ID.

Front Facing Camera:

The front area of the iPhone X holds many new features that allow for Face ID. You would simply hold your phone in front of your face, and the iPhone will authenticate you and with a slide up, you get to the home screen.

The front facing camera works as a normal camera, but also in conjunction with other sensors and dot projector, Apple is able to take the face depth, and be able to recognize the user by his face.

Home Button:

The home button is removed from the iPhone X, and replaced with Face ID. Removing the home button allowed Apple to use the full surface of the screen. Now we have edge to edge display with a little notch at the top. That notch area is where all the iPhone X magic hides.

To open your iPhone X, you simply look at the screen, and swipe up. The screen is also touch sensitive, so you can simply touch it to wake up the phone, and then swipe up to authenticate.

Notification and Control Center:

Notifications are now accessed by swiping from the top left of the notch while to access the control center you swipe down from the right side. Right of the notch.

My Experience:

In this page, I will talk about my experience with my iPhone X. I was very excited When the iPhone X was announced as I was following the news, and rumors of a new iPhone that has a bigger screen or what is called edge to edge display.

Once the per-order day came, I woke up in the morning Eastern time, and started the order process in order to be on the list for the first iPhone X shipment.

I was able to place the order, and I received my iPhone X about one week later. I was so excited about this new phone as much as I was excited about the iPhone 4 at that time. the iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4 was a great jump from the previous iPhones.

the same story with the iPhone X, it is a great jump and maybe the biggest jump in the iPhone history. It changed the way you use your iPhone.

Removing the home button, and using the front cameras to recognize your face was awesome.

Now after almost a year of using the iPhone X, my experience is that I struggle when I go back to a normal iPhone with a home button. When any of my kids ask to access the settings, or home screen, I get confused for a second.

In general, I always loved a gesture experience with the iPhone. That was one of my main reasons to jailbreak my previous iPhones. I used a jailbreak hack called Activator. Activator is an iPhone hack that was available on the jailbreak community in Cydia which is a third party app store different than the Apple app store. If you like to know more about jailbreaking and it does visit my page iPhone Hacks, and you will learn a lot.

Anyways, Activator is a gesture based hack that allows you to assign different hand finger gestures or touches, or swipes to achieve your goal, or perform your task.

For example, I was able to completely eliminate the home button on my previous iPhone. The reason why I didn't like the home button is that it requires a press not only touch. Although, with Activator and iPhone 5s with touch ID, I was able to make the touch feature of the home button on the iPhone 5s to wake up and start my phone without the additional force to press the button the normal way.

The new experience with the iPhone X does exactly similar to what I used to do with Activator. Now it is official, and is built into the new iPhone. I really love the gestures on the iPhone X. I don't have to apply force to the screen or a home button, and all what I do to wake up the phone is touch the screen and swipe up. It is amazing, and now after more than 10 months, I am in love with it, and I don't see me going back to a home button experience.

iPhone 8:

The iPhone 8 is basically an iPhone 7 with faster internals, and a better camera. It still has the home button for those who like touch ID and the same experience as before.

iPhone 8 plus:

The iPhone 8 Plus is also similar to iPhone 7 plus in terms of size. It has a bigger screen while still keeping the home button and touch ID. It again uses the same experience as a home button iPhone.
