iPhone 7

As usual every year Apple updates its line of iPhones. This time it is iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 plus. With new iPhone Apple added many under the hood improvements and features that are not easily identified if you look at a previous generation iPhone 6s. Since the design is still about the same, the changes look minor.

iPhone 7 Camera:

The iPhone 7 camera is one of the biggest improvement. Apple knows that people use their iPhone camera a lot, and they depend on it in their travel, and their normal life. Also, it is knows that iPhone camera is the most used feature, and photos from an iPhone has always been really good.

Therefore, the camera update is always a great thing. Now with 12-megapixle, and better low light handling, image stabilizer, your pictures will look much better.

The four tone flash led compared to two is another big change which is very useful in dark, and low light, and also very useful three level flash light when force touch on the flash.

Front Facing Camera:

The front facing camera or Facetime camera is also changed, and improved from 5-Megapixle to 7-Megapixle which gives more details to your selfies. It also has image stabilizer, and retina flash so you can take good pictures in low light.

Home Button:

The home button is not mechanical anymore. That means you don't actually press the home button. You will not hear or feel a click when you press the home button.

Try to turn your iPhone off, and press the button, you can't because now it uses the taptic engine which is used on the Apple Watch and other Mac computer touch pad. When you apply pressure, you will feed a tactile feedback or Graphics as a result of taptic engine.

With the home button using force touch, it is now possible to identify several levels of touch with your finger similar to the force touch used on the iPhone 6S, and iPhone 7 screen.

iOS 10:

The iPhone 7 comes with iOS 10 per-installed. Some of iOS 10 best features are improved Siri, Notification Center, Improved widgets, and Control Center besides improvement in almost every App that comes with iOS 10 such as Maps, mail, and Messages.

Battery:

iPhone 7 has a bigger battery now, and Apple claims that iPhone 7 will have two more additional hours of use compared to the iPhone 6S. This is good news as the battery on the iPhone has always been in the low side because of the slim design of iPhones.

A10 Processor:

The A10 processor that is inside the iPhone 7 is the normal Apple designed processor and next generation after the A9. This is the fastest processor at this time used on any smart phone. Apple has been very successful in designing super fast processor that leaves all the competitors in the dark.

Water Resistance:

The water resistance feature has been around for a couple years now from another competitor such as Samsung. Although the iPhone 6s would pass some water spray and submerging in water, the iPhone 7 is officially water resistant with IP67 which means it can withstand submerging in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Although Apple still doesn't recommend swimming with it, I have seen many videos with iPhone being used in the swimming pool.

Water resistance is diffidently one of the best features of the iPhone 7.

Apple lightening earphonesNo 3.5mm Audio:

In order to improve the water resistance performance of the iPhone 7, Apple decided to get rid of the 3.5mm jack that is standard in every audio device. This a courage move to remove this port as everyone use this jack for audio output. As an alternative, Apple now uses the lightning port to connect to headphone, and the iPhone 7 is supplied with one adapter to convert lightening to 3.5mm jack so you can use your existing headphones. Moreover, Apple supplies every iPhone 7 with a lightening head set which is an identical headset to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, but with lighting port connection.

The removal of the headphone jack is a move to improve water resistance, and another move by Apple to remove a historically non improving or still technology.
