AirDrop

Airdrop is an Apple proprietary method of file sharing with other iOS users. AirDrop works across all iOS devices including iPads as long as you are running the latest iOS.

It works just like anything Apple by simply enabling it in Settings, and check if you want everyone to find your iPhone, or just people from your contacts.

Once AirDrop is enabled on your phone, then other iOS users can see you when they try to share anything within any App. For Example, suppose that you have a page in Safari that you want to share with a friend next to you. Simply tap the share button in Safari and you should get to the sharing menu on your iPhone.

Here, you will see AirDrop. If your friend has it enabled on his phone, and has you in his contact, then AirDrop will pop up and show up in this area. You can then simply tap his picture and the page will be sent to him.

He will then get a pop up message that someone is trying to send him a web page and a preview will also be shown.

Once he tap accept, a transfer will start. Remember that AirDrop is like bluetooth file transfer, so in order for Air Drop to work, you must have both Bluetooth and Wifi enabled on both phones.

Airdrop is an amazing and very fast way to transfer big files, pictures, videos from one iOS device to another. You can also use it to share many other types of files from almost any app that support it. If an App has a share button, then it can also use Air Drop as a way of sharing also.
