When the iPhone 5 was rumored, it was known that a bigger screen is coming. It was then confirmed that a 4" screen is in the work vs 3.5".
The iPhone 5 was indeed released with a 4" retina display measured diagonally. This is basically a little bit longer screen than the previous generation iPhones. The iPhone 5 is longer but not wider. That is exactly what I was looking for.
I was always afraid that Apple make a stupid mistake and make the iPhone wide like the many
Android
devices. Although, some people were asking for a wider screen, I completely understand the theory behind just a longer screen.
Bigger is not always better, and just because the market is saturated with confused Phone sizes, that go to a crazy 5.5" that doesn't mean that the iPhone must meat those crazy sizes. There is usually a perfect size for a human hand to hold a smart phones.
For example, you must be able to hold in one hand, and be able to touch the top of the screen and the bottom of the screen. When you can reach any area of the phone screen with your thumb, then you have got the perfect size.
I think the current width of the
iPhone
is just perfect for all range of human hand. It is perfect for one hand use. I can easily hold it with one hand and reach every corner of the screen while holding a cup of coffee or holding a bag for example.
What do you think, should Apple increase the width of the future iPhone to match those crazy
Android phones?
